MK50 Birthday Reception

GranPart was honoured to be invited to Westminster as part of the MK50 Birthday celebrations. It was a great evening with around 100 different causes invited. Milton Keynes MP’s Iain Stewart and Mark Lancaster organised the event, which took place in the State Rooms of Speakers House, to show their appreciation for ‘unsung heroes’. Iain mentioned GranPart in his speech and said how privileged & proud he was to be part of such a worthwhile support group, and that he will continue to help us get this issue recognised in Parliament.

On Saturday 16th September we had a table in Waitrose Oakgrove Milton Keynes , where we are also part of the Community Matters Green Token Scheme for September.

There was a lot of interest from shoppers, who were very pro-active in approaching us and asking for more information. Hopefully this has helped spread the word and will lead to new members. It was also good to see that the green token collection was doing really well.

2017 FETES

We plan to be very pro-active in 2017 and do our best to create greater awareness about our group, and hopefully increase our membership.

Shenley Church End Parish Council are holding a fete on 1st July 2017 at Medbourne Pavilion, and we have booked a place. Also On August 12th & 13th we will be attending the Blisworth  Canal festival where we will have a stand promoting GranPart along with a game to encourage people to stop and take interest.

If you are in either of these areas please come along and say hello, your support will be very much appreciated.

Northampton Christmas Get Together

On the 9th December 2016 members of GranPart Northampton got together at the Beefeater Harpole to celebrate their first Christmas as a group. With plans being made to organise events to encourage new members, everyone was looking forward to 2017.

Having held two Macmillan coffee mornings we are delighted to announce that we raised a grand total of £1067.92.

The first event was held at the Beefeater in Harpole Northampton on the 30th September where donations of over £473 were received and on the 21 October a further £595 was raised at the Milton Keynes coffee morning held at Shenley Church End Parish Council meeting room.

GranPart would like to thank everyone who helped organise the events and to all those fantastic bakers who who took the time to put their skills to good use and provide some lovely cakes and biscuits.

Also thanks to all those people and companies who donated so many great prizes.
